Who's Involved

THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Development of Nelson Science 10 resources has involved the participation of many experienced authors, editors, consultants and expert reviewers with extensive experience in science publishing. From 1998 to 2000, the Nelson Education Science Development Team held over 85 focus groups with over 800 grades 7-10 science teachers to identify key issues and gain an understanding of how new science programs could best meet the needs of classroom teachers and students. The information obtained through this extensive consultation process has ensured that Nelson Science 10 not only addresses the goals and expectations of the new Ontario curriculum, but also meets the needs of teachers and students.

While material was being written, over 40 Ontario teachers, consultants and other educators provided input through participation in the Nelson Science 10 Advisory Panel and overall review process.
